I became a DNP because I'm a lifelong learner. I like learning new things, and I like teaching, especially teaching undergraduate nursing students in the environment where they'll be working. If I had to choose my favorite patient age range, it would be taking care of the whole family. You're never just caring for an individual person. It isn't just the patient you're taking care of. Sometimes you're taking care of the whole family and explaining the process to them. The aspect of my work that excites me the most is teaching patients about their disease process so that they can start with disease prevention, get better and live a healthy long life. If I could offer my patients one piece of advice, it would be to ask every question that's on your mind. That way, they have a better understanding of their disease process or their health at that given moment.
