I chose surgical oncology because of my passion for research and innovation. Cancer care evolves rapidly, expanding the role of curative surgery. As treatments advance, more patients become candidates for potentially curative operations, especially for pancreatic, liver, gastric and melanoma cancers. The Whipple procedure, once rare, now benefits many patients, and immunotherapy enables resection of melanomas previously deemed unresectable. I specialize in minimally invasive robotic and laparoscopic surgery, liver ablation for metastatic colorectal cancer and noninvasive histotripsy for liver tumors. I never want patients to lose hope?new breakthroughs are always emerging.
